Remember this design drawing? It represents a reasonable depiction of the relative position of the right angle drive mechanism required to translate the horizontal input from the bicycle into the vertical rotation of the carousel. Because the design is based upon "The Austin Boston Peabody Human Steam and Gerbil Quantum Magnetics Drive System", I had no way of knowing where it was when I knew it's velocity. My tongue is firmly in my cheek this morning.
Here is the real thing. I now know the drive position and that it required .018" of shim on the inside mounting angle to center the output shaft. Round and round I go and where I will stop nobody knows. Do you really care about the shimming detail? Me thinks knot.
